PRE-VISIT PLANNING

WEATHER: While normally quite temperate, the temperature can become quite cool when the fog rolls in from the ocean along Dry Creek. It can also be quite warm, so please plan for both eventualities.

CLOTHING: Whether picking yourselves or just using our crusher to crush grapes we have picked for you, please wear comfortable work clothes. We recommend jeans, long sleeved shirts, hats, and sturdy boots. We ask that you bring your own grape knives. Families welcome! You will be expected to supervise any minors that you allow to pick.

FOOD & DRINK: Make sure that you bring a cooler filled with water, juices or soft drinks. On our hot fall days, it’s easy to get dehydrated. The Dry Creek General Store (located just two miles down the road) makes wonderful wine country picnics, sandwiches and has a number of beverages and wine for your pleasure.

RECREATION

We are located about about 5 miles from Lake Sonoma. Created by the construction of Warm Springs Dam by the US Army Corps of Engineers and finished in 1982, this lake is a popular recreation point. With a full surface area of 2700 acres and 50 miles of shoreline, the lake provides great boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and museum/fish hatchery.

FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT DRY CREEK VALLEY, please note that the AVA showcases a great selection of small and medium family owned wineries and the Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley is the official guide to the wineries of Dry Creek Valley.

We are also members of the Sonoma County Winegrape Commission and their website is full of information.
