Exceptional wine grapes farmed in Sonoma County’s Dry Creek Valley

Our vineyard is certified sustainable and family owned and operated since 1856, and thoughtfully farmed by the 6th Generation.

We farm 7 varietals of white and red wine grapes on our 70 acres of land for wineries and home winemakers of all sizes. Our position on the valley floor, carefully maintained soil, morning fog, and warm summers provide an ideal environment for wine grape cultivation.

Our Family History

Tom and Audrey are the 6th generation to farm this land and hope to pass it on to the 7th.

Accolades and Testimonials

Our matriarch, Janice Schmidt’s winemaking with our grapes under the brand Estate 1856 has garnered numerous awards, not to mention the accolades and high ratings from wines made by other wineries big and small. We take pride in growing premium product and maintaining strong relationships and transparency with our buyers.

“I have had the good fortune to work with Merlot from Tzabaco Rancho for more than a dozen years. This site in the heart of Dry Creek Valley is well suited to growing top quality Merlot. The Schmidts are committed to growing high quality grapes and understand the concept of being not merely ‘growers’ but ‘winegrower’.”
